Garden Journal

Just a very quick post before heading off on my holliers to show you my 3rd DT make for the By the Cute and Girly "In the Garden" challenge this month.
I have covered a brown kraft notebook with fabric, stamped the images on calico, decorated the pencil to match and added some embellies.  The "garden journal" lettering is a bit of freehand embroidery and the calico patches are machine sewn on to the notebook.  Strange to say this is the first time I have used my sewing machine on paper-its usually occupied with fabric.  The bookmark is a length of ric rac trimming with a bead sitting on top of the knot.  Crochet flowers and bee are my own.
If you would like to enter the "In the Garden" challenge with your crafty make details are HERE.   Lots of prizes and Guest DT spots to be won.
Bye for now!

Wedding card

First let me apologise - there is something wrong with Blogger and I've not been able to leave comments on most blogs I've visited in the past week.  I have managed to leave 2 comments as gerslittlesnippets and 1 "anonymus" after logging into my gmail account over and over again!  Don't you just HATE technology sometimes!
Now on to prettier things:  June is the month for weddings and here is one of the easel wedding cards I've made.

The paper is Love Letters (Trimcraft), Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and pearl sprays, MS lattice heart punch, butterflies and embroidered heart are my own makes.  Putting this in for the following challenges:
Digidoodleshop - Weddings
Pollycraft Monday Love and Marriage
Thank you

Spring Strawberries-2nd make for BTC&G "In the Garden" challenge

June is flying by and its time to blog my 2nd make for  this month's the By the Cute and Girly challenge.  The design team were lucky to receive a package of gorgeous doilys from Poppy's cabin and a choice of images from Spesch stamps.  I used both in this garden party invitation.

The  image is "Spring Strawberries" from Spesch stamps and I've coloured the white Poppy's cabin doily with a green inkpad and used a small part of another doily for the fence.  The flower is made from hessian spread with PVA glue to strengthen it, then coloured with glimmer mists, let dry and cut up with the TH Tattered flowers die.  A lot of dirty fingers after that bit of work!
There is still plenty of time, over 3 weeks, to get creating and enter your crafty makes for the "In the Garden" challenge.  Lots of prizes to be won ie gift vouchers from Simon Says Stamp and Joanna Sheen, a selection of goodies including doilys from Poppy's Cabin, digi images from Spesch Designer Stamps and Guest designer places.....
This card/invitation suits the Digital Tuesday "In the Garden/Outdoors" challenge.

June Challenge at By the Cute and Girly

Its the start of June and time for a new challenge at the By the Cute and Girly Challenge blog.  This month's my turn to host and I have chosen "In the Garden" as the month's theme in the hope that we will get some sunny days and be able to sit outside and enjoy ourselves.  You can enter as often as you like, but it must be a different craft each time.  There are 4 great prizes to be won

A $20 Gift Certificate from Simon Says Stamp

A £10 Gift Certificate from Joanna Sheen

Three digi images from Spesch Designer Stamps

- A prize package from Poppy's Cabin; lace, doilys, ribbon, charms...

So here is my 1st DT project which is also my 1st ever scrapbooking layout.  It features Mitzi, my mother's little pom posing in her back garden in the summer of 2002.  My mother and Mitzi are no longer with us but I have 100's of photo's of the garden and Mitzi looking as if she is in charge of everything!

The background paper is Websters Pages and I used an EK succes punch and some of my snippets.  Why not get going with some of your own garden-inspired makes this weekend and enter the BTC&G "In the Garden" challenge?  There are 2 or 3 Guest Designer places on offer as well as the prizes.

Bling, Beads and Butterflies

It seems ages since I did any beading or jewellery making so when I saw this challenge it got me going.  It would have been easy to make a flower or use one of my Snippets but why take the easy way out when you can torment yourself with tiny beads?  So I made some butterflies using mainly size 11 beads and added them to this card:

The stamp is from Hero Arts; the DP is Butterfly Garden from Wild Rose Studios and although the colours, yellow and purple, arent ones I'd normally use together, I think they are ok here.
This card fits the following challenges:
Ladybug Crafts Ink  "Make your own Embellishments"

Now for the Bling!  A friend is going to a wedding  on Friday and she asked me to make a necklace to match her dress which is mainly green with white and black.  So this is what I turned out plus a pair of matching earrings.  I'm still working on her card for the bride and groom.....will post it later on in the week if I remember to take a photo.

Thanks for looking.
